The Faces of Elkin: Brittany Russell

Updated: Aug 6

Welcome to the Explore Elkin blog series where we celebrate a "Face of Elkin" each month. These individuals are special members of our community who have been nominated to share their unique stories. If you would like to be featured as the "Face of Elkin" or know someone deserving of this recognition, please fill out this form.

I have always had a special place in my heart for Elkin. I moved away in 2009 and honestly I couldn’t get back soon enough. My husband, Ronnie and I moved to Elkin in 2017 to follow our entrepreneurial trail.

While opening my first business in Downtown Elkin, I quickly became passionate about the revitalization of Downtown and promoting our community. I love to talk to others about finding their trail in Elkin. Whether it be a food/wine trail, the trails, entrepreneurial trail, generational trail, and so on. Upon moving back, I immediately got engaged in opportunities such as Main Street Advisory Board, Downtown Elkin Merchant Group, and Explore Elkin. Through these organizations, I have been so blessed to work and learn beside some of the best leaders around.

My passion and commitment to Elkin highlight my belief in the vibrancy and potential of this beloved small town. I always tell people who have not visited Elkin, "it is a very special place and I promise you have never experienced anything like it before." I do believe community is what makes Elkin so special.
