Big Elkin BrrrFest

2nd Saturday of February

Join us annually on the 2nd Friday in February at Coley Hall for BrrrFest and the Great American Soup-Off! Here you can enjoy beer from local breweries, live music, and soups made by Elkin's greatest.

NC Trail Days

1st Weekend in June

NC Trail Days is held annually during the first weekend in June in the small trail town of Elkin NC, which is located in the western foothills of the Yadkin Valley wine region. Bring your bikes, boats, and boots to explore the many trails in and around Elkin! The Festival Weekend includes guided hikes, an adventure film night, a low-country boil and music, outdoor-oriented exhibitors and non-profits, kid's events, guest speakers, a 5k trail run at Stone Mountain State Park, food trucks and a beer garden on Main Street, an Overmountain Victory Trail Revolutionary War encampment, REI mountain bike clinics and rides... and so much more outdoor fun!

Freedomfest

Friday before July 4th

The Freedom Fest Celebration is held annually on the Friday before July 4th at Elkin Municipal Park. The celebration offers live music, food vendors, prizes to win, activities for kids, games to play, and of course beautiful fireworks!

Yadkin Valley Pumpkin Festival

4th Saturday in September

Mark your calendars for the Annual Yadkin Valley Pumpkin Festival in Historic Downtown Elkin on the 4th Saturday in September from 9:00am-5:00pm! Don’t miss the annual Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off with hopeful growers from all over the East Coast. Elkin’s Main Street will be lined with vendors ranging from antiques, jump houses, funnel cakes, pottery, wood furnishings & wine racks, BBQ, baked goods, handcrafted gifts, and so much more! It’s the perfect way to fall into the season, with fun to be had by all.

Yadkin Valley Wine Festival

3rd Saturday of May

The Yadkin Valley Wine Festival is a family-friendly event open to the public. Here you can savor wine from over 20 Yadkin Valley Wineries & Vineyards, while exploring craft vendor displays, and enjoying great food and live music all day.

Elkin Roots Music Fest

3rd Weekend of June

Elkin Roots Music Fest celebrates all types of regional roots music and features something new and exciting each year. From fiddle, guitar and banjo playing, to singer-songwriters, blues, gospel and old-time, we offer something for everyone to enjoy with a different line up every year.

Reevestock Music Festival

1st Weekend in August

Reevestock runs annually the first weekend in August and offers something for everyone in the family. Reevestock offers great music for all ages, food & drinks from your favorite restaurants, and activities for the kids. The event benefits the community in every way possible. The money raised from the event is put into the Reevestock Scholarship Fund to help local high school seniors continue their education. So, come on out for a great time that benefits an awesome cause!

Food Truck Friday

2nd Friday of Every Month (April - October)

Don’t miss Food Truck Fridays at the Elkin Farmers Market Shelter from 11am-8pm on the 2nd Friday of every month from April-October! Come out to enjoy tasty food trucks, live music, and local wine & craft beer. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy all the fun that is sure to be had.

Downtown Farmers Market

Every Saturday (Mid April - End of November)

From April-November, come join us weekly on Saturdays from 9:00am-Noon at the Elkin Farmer’s Market! Located under the shelter at 226 N. Bridge St. in Elkin, our vibrant Farmers Market provides an excellent selection of fresh produce, local meat, grain-fed eggs, local plants, and handmade crafts from local vendors. Often booked with live music, the Elkin Farmers Market is great for the whole family to explore and enjoy!

Take a Break from the Interstate

Last Full Weekend in July

Experience peaceful leisure along 2-lane roadways as you travel Historic U.S. Highway 21. When you take a break from an Interstate you'll find relaxing roads less traveled, admire gorgeous Appalachian countryside & experience unique attractions along the way. Take a Break From The Interstate is a 3-day road market in July.

Light Up Elkin

1st Friday of December

Join us annually on the first Friday of December as we celebrate the start of the holidays by LIGHTING UP downtown Main Street in Elkin! So many festivities will be taking place including photos with Santa, local dance company performances, a Holiday Kids Zone, train rides for children up and down Main Street, and more! The Foothills Arts Council will host its Holiday Craft & Gift Market inside Coley Hall at the Liberty all weekend, and many other Elkin merchants and restaurants will offer seasonal promotions. This is the perfect place find holiday shopping while supporting local businesses and artisans.

Let's get together and celebrate diversity and fellowship in Elkin! Bring a chair or picnic blanket, and a covered dish to share!

Cruise Elkin & Downtown Block Party

4th Saturday (May - October)

From May-October on the 4th Saturday of each month, we invite you to Cruise Elkin. Come out and enjoy live music, shopping, dining, and strolling while admiring all the vehicles lining Downtown Elkin and cruising the historic “loop”. Registration is FREE and is held at the Wells Fargo parking lot.

Trick or Treat Main Street

Halloween, October 31st

Trick or Treat on Main Street begins at 5:30pm on Halloween and provides a safe, family-friendly place for trick-or-treating. Experience the festivities as downtown businesses showcase their presence to the community. Don’t miss out as over two-dozen downtown merchants participate annually with visits from around 2,000 Trick or Treaters.
