Tucked right off Elk Spur Street, Six28 House is close enough to be a part of the action downtown, yet far enough to enjoy the quiet rhythm of small-town life. The property sits in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the heart of North Carolina Wine Country as part of the Yadkin Valley and Swan Creek AVA regions. Guests can spend the day exploring more than 30 wineries and vineyards within a half hour's drive, hitting local trails like the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, or browsing the downtown shops and the Entertainment and Arts District, all just minutes away.
Thoughtfully Designed Guest Rooms
Each of the three guest rooms has its own personality and private bathroom:
The Garden Room - warm, sunny, and cheerful with soft yellows, garden-inspired prints, and an original hearth that adds a touch of history.
The Vineyard Suite - an ode to Yadkin Valley Wine Country, featuring rich textures and a relaxing, vineyard-inspired color palette.
The MST Room - a tribute to the beloved Mountains-to-Sea Trail, complete with a hand-painted mural by host Holly and her niece. A portion of proceeds from this room supports the Elkin Valley Trails Association, making each stay part of a greater outdoor story.
Breakfast Worth Waking Up For
Every morning begins with chef-prepared breakfasts that go beyond the typical B&B spread. Fresh pastries, courtesy of master baker Chef Keith, welcome guests to the table, followed by hearty, beautifully plated dishes tailored to each persons preferences or dietary needs. Before your stay, you'll even fill out and receive a welcome packet so Holly and Keith can make sure every detail feels just right.
When we stopped by for photos, we were treated to a full tour and breakfast experience the same way it's served to overnight guests. It was nothing short of exceptional. If this was the hospitality we experienced in just a few hours, we can only imagine the warmth and care waiting for those who stay overnight.
Hosts Who Feel Like Old Friends
Owners and live-in hosts Holly and Keith have poured their hearts into giving this grand home new life and purpose. They're storytellers, guides, and conversationalists who know the area intimately. They're there to help you feel at home. As Keith says:
"Come, get a coffee, take it to the porch, take it back to your room, take it to the sitting room - enjoy the house as if its yours."
