Faces of Elkin: Lee & Desiree Mastin

Real estate pros. Community Champions. Elkin through and through.

Lee & Desiree Mastin

If you've spent some time in our smiling community here in Elkin, there's a solid chance you've crossed paths with Lee and Desiree Mastin. Whether you met them at a festival, a Chamber event, a Rotary project, or while exploring Elkin's local real estate, one thing is clear: this dynamic duo is deeply woven into the fabric of Elkin.

Both Lee and Desiree were born and raised here - Desiree graduated from Elkin High School in 2001 and Lee began his teaching career at the very same school in 1997 after graduating from Appalachian State University (roll 'Neers!). Their love for Elkin isn't new - it's in their roots. And now, as owners of Golden Key Realty, they've made it their mission to not only share that love with others but to help people call Elkin home.

Ask this power couple what makes Elkin special, and they'll talk about unity.

They'll talk about a small town filled with big dreamers.

They'll talk about a community that celebrates the highs and shows up during the lows.

Lee & Desiree Mastin

It's not just sentiment- it's something they live every day! Volunteering at local events, staying active in the Yadkin Vally Rotary Club, and embracing their roles in the Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce to welcome and celebrate neighbors and friends- Lee and Desiree embody the kind of engaged, enthusiastic spirit that keeps Elkin thriving.

They'll tell you that "Elkin is like gravity - you're just drawn to it." It's where trails lead and river floats end. It's where you grab a slice of pizza at Angry Troll or catch a show at The Reeves. It's where they had their first date... and where they returned to celebrate their wedding! "Downtown will always be special to us," they shared. "It's where our story really began."

And they don't take Elkin's uniqueness and energy for granted. "It's the people," they say. "The same beautiful, smiling faces show up to everything, striving for growth. Inviting, accepting, and full of love."

From summer concerts and the Pumpkin Festival to farmers markets to late-night chats on Main Street, Lee and Desiree Mastin remind us what it means to show up, dig in, and invest in the place you call home.
