Celebrate Hispanic Heritage in Elkin

September is Hispanic Heritage Month, and Elkin is joining the celebration with the return of the Hispanic Heritage Festival to downtown.

The festival brings the community together for a day filled with music, food, dancing, local vendors and plenty to experience. It's a chance to celebrate the cultures and traditions represented throughout Elkin and the surrounding area, while enjoying a great day downtown.

A Celebration of Culture and Community

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated nationwide from September 15th through October 15th, recognizing the histories, cultures and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.

Here in Elkin, the Hispanic Heritage Festival brings that celebration close to home. Throughout the day, visitors can experience different traditions through live performances, music, food and activities for all ages.

Why We Celebrate

Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to recognize the histories, traditions and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities across the United States. The celebration begins on September 15, a date that coincides with the independence anniversaries of several Latin American countries, with additional independence celebrations following throughout the month.

It’s also an opportunity to appreciate the many cultures represented across Latin America, each with its own traditions, music, food, art and history.

Come Hungry

Food is always one of the best ways to experience another culture, and there will be plenty to try during the festival.

Local vendors will be serving up a variety of dishes and treats throughout the day, so come hungry and try something you may not have had before.
