Sip, Savor, Repeat: Wineries to Visit Before the Summer Season Ends

Vineyard Grapes in the Yadkin Valley, NC

Summer may be winding down, but there's still time for one (or maybe a few) more glass(es) of wine with a view. There's no shortage of picturesque vineyards and tasting rooms in the Yadkin Valley that are perfect for soaking in the end of a beautiful season in Elkin. We've rounded up a few favorites to visit before the sun sets on summer.

The Stage at Jones Von Drehle Vineyards, NC

With sweeping vineyard views and a lineup of award-winning wines, Jones von Drehle is a must-visit for any serious or novice sipper. Don't miss their dry rosé or classic cabernet- both perfect for toasting to summer.

Don't forget about their scenic amphitheater! The Stage at Jones von Drehle features incredible acts through September.

Tucked beside a gentle stream and surrounded by trees, Elkin Creek feels like a hidden gem. The cozy tasting lodge makes it hard to leave. Bonus points if you make a reservation for their wood-fired pizzas on Sundays, they are the perfect pairing for a chilled glass of rosé on a closing summer day!

This fun, funky spot is anything but traditional. Known for their sweet blends and cheeky labels, Slightly Askew brings casual charm that's perfect for a spontaneous tasting with friends.

This boutique winery blends European elegance with Southern charm. Grab a glass and settle into their stylish patio. Bonus points if you catch one of their live music evenings!

Set on the historic Klondike Dairy Farm, Grassy Creek offers a rustic escape just minutes from downtown. One of our favorite things about Grassy Creek is the access to local trails right by their tasting room. Sip wines in their red barn-style tasting room or bring a picnic and enjoy the scenic grounds and nature trails.

A newer face on our local wine scene, Midnight Magdalena is all about boutique elegance. Their small-batch wines are thoughtfully crafted, and the mountain top views make it feel like a retreat.

Golden hour hits different at Golden Road. With stunning views from their hilltop tasting room and a laid-back atmosphere, it's the perfect place to slow down and savor the season.
